RPOF/CNN debate set for Jan. 26 in Jacksonville
The Republican Party of Florida/CNN debate will be Jan. 26 in Jacksonville, the party said this morning.
"So far, there have been debates in Tampa and Orlando. With the national convention also being held in Tampa next year, the RPOF is committed to a venue in Northeast Florida, another region crucial for Republican victory statewide," a news release stated.
"CNN and RPOF are going to make this debate the best opportunity for our presidential candidates to continue their dialogue with Floridians," said RPOF Chairman Lenny Curry. "With a date exactly halfway between the South Carolina and Florida primary dates, this debate will be the must-attend event for this great field of Republicans."
The debate will come four days before one hosted by St. Petersburg Times, NBC News, Telemundo, the National Journal and the Florida Council of 100. That debate will be Jan. 30 at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa.
Florida's presidential primary is Jan. 31.
