Rubio drops into Dallas to speak to Hispanics

hvn-rubio-rsvp-3.jpg UPDATE 2: Rubio also toured the U.S.-Mexico border, according to his office, which put out a notice this evening.

Sen. Marco Rubio drops into Dallas today for an event focused on Hispanics.

Rubio has been promoted by national Republicans as a draw for Hispanics. His message and tone -- usually on aligned with the "border first" wing of the GOP -- will be worth noting given that Texas Latinos are predominately Mexican and more attuned to the harsh rhetoric on immigration.

"The conservative movement is about helping all Americans achieve their dreams and that is a message that resonates in Hispanic communities," Rubio says in a news release for the event.

UPDATE: Dallas Morning News has a very brief item on the speech here. More indepth coverage here.
