Rubio votes no on spending compromise to avert shutdown
Sen. Marco Rubio was one of only 12 lawmakers, all Republicans, to vote against a bipartisan spending deal the Senate passed last night to avoid a government shutdown and provide money for disaster relief.
The deal cut some of the FEMA aid Democrats wanted but averted spending cuts Republicans wanted. It is expected to keep the government running through mid November. Background here.
