Rudy opens Day 3 with security issues
ABOARD THE CAMPAIGN BUS -- Rudy Giuliani stuck to his well-hewn national security theme when speaking to the National Troopers Coalition this morning in Lake Buena Vista. The group has endorsed Giuliani, noting Rudy's 9/11 experience in New York City.
"Mayor Giuliani is the only candidate -- I repeat the only candidate -- to be crisis tested," said coalition president Dennis Halligan said in introducing Giuliani to a crowd of 120 at a Disney resort hotel, Giuliani's first event today.
It's a security-issue day as Giuliani concludes the bus tour (some of the media contingent have broken off with three events left). In Jacksonville, Giuliani will say he will supports moving an aircraft carrier back to one of the city's Navy bases as part of a national defense strategy. East Coast carriers are now in Norfolk, Va., after the Mayport-based USS John F. Kennedy carrier was shut down.
Rudy concludes his trip in New Smyrna Beach, Jacksonville and then Yulee, with a late fund-raiser in Jax. Read about the previous two days here.
