Rudy takes Fla. cash crown, but Clinton close
With $1.7-million collected, Rudy Giuliani led all presidential candidates in Florida for the second quarter. That's a sizable jump from his first quarter take of $823,000 and underscores the campaign's emphasis on the Sunshine State. Story here.
But Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton took in $1.5-million, despite less emphasis on the state. Likewise, Barack Obama posted $936,541. John Edwards raised $511,000.
Mitt Romney, the other GOP contender who has focused on Florida, also fared well for April, May and June. He reported $976,000. John McCain's troubles were reflected in the state. He took in $467,000, down from $980,000 in the first quarter.
