Santorum's sweep gives him at least a glimmer of Tampa

santorum_rick_2.jpgRick Santorum hit a three-pointer Tuesday, winning Missouri and Minnesota and Colorado.

"Conservatism is alive and well in Missouri and Minnesota," he said a few hours before the results in Colorado were official. It is at least a temporary comeback for Santorum who never moved beyond his success in Iowa more than a month ago.

And it gives him a glimmer of hope of entering the Republican National Convention in Tampa as the nominee. Only a glimmer.

Mitt Romney remains the front-runner and he'll now turn attention and firepower on the former senator from Pennsylvania. "Mitt Romney is not going to win every contest," Rich Beeson, the campaign's political director, wrote in a memo released to reporters. "John McCain lost 19 states in 2008, and we expect our opponents will notch a few wins, too."
