SC bucking Florida's early primary move
South Carolina's GOP chairman is ready reschedule their presidential primary if Florida tries to cut ahead of the Palmetto state: "There is no date too early for South Carolina," Katon Dawson said. "We could calendar it to Halloween if we needed to. It would be our version of trick-or-treat."
Meanwhhile Rep. Dave Rivera expects to amend the early primary bill to say that Florida's primary could fall no earlier than the second Tuesday in January. That would give some peace of mind to elections supervisors, and mean that early voters could start voting practically at New Year's.
