Scott applauds Obama - to a point
Gov. Rick Scott has spent the past year using terms like ObamaCare, Obama-math and ObamaRail. So was the announcement last night of Osama bin Laden's death the Obama-boost that will push the president to re-election in 2012?
Scott isn't so sure.
"Oh, I don't know," Scott said today. "The way I look at this is, it's a great day for our country that we finally got him."
Scott said it was "great" bin Laden was dead and did praise Obama. "You have to commend the president and the armed forces, the special forces that took the risk to go in there and do that," Scott said.
Scott said he was in New York City for a business meeting on Sept. 11, 2001. (He was a venture capitalist at the time.)
He was walking down the street when the first plane crashed, but didn't hear it. "I turned the street corner and everybody had the radio on," Scott said. "I got in contact with my office and they told me what happened."
