Scott finds a friendly crowd in Orlando

Gov. Rick Scott is having a tough time boosting his statewide approval rating, but he was among friends this afternoon when he spoke about 2,000 people at the CPAC FL crowd.

Scott earned applause from the crowd as he described his conservative agenda, including passing laws to drug test welfare applicants and expand charter schools, reducing the budget, cutting taxes and fighting President Obama's health care law, which he referred to as the "Unaffordable Care Act."

He took time to praise the state Cabinet members and legislative leaders - all Republicans. "We had a great session," Scott said.

Scott said it "was a great debate last night."

Scott, a rookie politician, said it was interesting to watch the debate after participating in his first last year.

"When I ran I had never done a debate, never run for office and my team was scared to death how I would do," Scott said. "They were just scared to death that i would completely blow every question. Fortunately, I survived."
