Scott on latest poll numbers: 'I'm focused on jobs'
Arriving Wednesday morning in the Cabinet room for a quarterly meeting of the clemency board, Gov. Rick Scott was asked what factors might have contributed to the inching up of his poll numbers. "I don't know," Scott said. "What I'm focused on is jobs. I'm focused on the things I ran on to get us back to work." He said he had not seen the latest Quinnipiac University results (50 percent disapproval, and 37 percent approval).
Scott was told that the poll showed Floridians by a 2-1 margin support drug tests for welfare recipients, which was part of his campaign platform. "It's the right thing for the state," Scott said.
