Scott rescinds dozens of Charlie Crist's appointments
Gov. Rick Scott on Tuesday rescinded 154 appointments made by former Gov. Charlie Crist.
Scott sent a letter to Senate President Mike Haridopolos, R-Merritt Island, advising him of the move but offered no reason for withdrawing appointments to dozens of panels — from the Barber's Board to the Florida Public Service Commission.
A spokesman for Scott said it was part of the new governor's re-evaluation of state government. Scott will reconsider re-appointing some, spokesman Brian Hughes said. "Gov. Scott is taking a look at these appointments," Hughes said. "This is consistent with his effort to assess the rules, regulations and contracts of the previous administration."
Crist withdrew 283 appointments from his predecessor, former Gov. Jeb Bush, within a week of taking office in 2007. (story here)
