Sen. Alexander directs agencies to re-evaluate leases, office space
Sen. J.D. Alexander, chairman of the Senate's ways and mean committee, wants state agencies over the next few weeks to work with real estate tenant-brokers to re-evaluate leases they now hold -- with an eye toward renegotiating them at lower rates or "consolidating offices."
Alexander, R-Lake Wales, has been scrutinizing the Department of Management Services and its land, building and lease holdings for months.
"We have got to find a more strategic plan," Alexander said. "We have to work collectively."
