Sen. Bill Nelson says GOP repeal of health care would hurt Floridians
Florida Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson weighed in on the House GOP's planned vote to repeal the health care law -- a largely symbolic effort that will meet its demise in the Democratic-controlled Senate. But while he said the proposal would hurt hundreds of thousands of Floridians, Nelson added that some aspects of the law could be changed for the better.
"I don't think the health-care law is perfect," he said in a statement posted on his website. "But it certainly helps a lot of people especially senior citizens." Read his view here.
Meanwhile, new Florida Sen. Marco Rubio issued a statement today naming new staffers who will help him tackle a number of issued including "repeal and replace ObamaCare."
