Sentinel, Trib for McCollum, Herald for Campbell
Republican Attorney General candidate Bill McCollum has picked up endorsements from the Orlando Sentinel, Tampa Tribune, and Naples Daily News, while Democrat Skip Campbell won the Miami Herald's support.
Said the Sentinel: "...But for a candidate who looks good on paper, Mr. Campbell is underwhelming in person. He is dodgy about controversial votes and stands he took as a legislator. He doesn't match Mr. McCollum's depth of knowledge about the attorney general's job, and he shows little passion for it."
The Herald: "Our choice in this race is Mr. Campbell. He has a proven ability to work across party lines. In his 10 years as a state senator, for example, the Republican leadership appointed him to chair committees three times."
