Sharpe to make a statement Monday about running for Congress -- maybe
It has been rumored throughout the summer that Republican Hillsborough County Commissioner Mark Sharpe would be announcing his candidacy any time now for the U.S. House seat currently occupied by Kathy Castor, D-Tampa. But no announcement has come. Sharpe said Thursday that he likely will make some sort of announcement on Monday, but isn't tipping his hand on whether he's in or out. "I'm probably going to make a statement about running for Congress," he said. Really? he was asked. "Yeah, it's pretty solid," he replied.
