Sink buys more TV time, Scott silent (for now)

For a solid week now, Rick Scott hasn't appeared in a single television advertisement. It seems unfathomable to even turn on the TV these days and not see his shiny head, given how many ads he bought in the primary.

But Alex Sink is filling the void. Her campaign and the Florida Democratic Party bought another week of TV time -- $600,000 in targeted markets statewide -- to keep her "Enough" ad (above) on the air through Labor Day. The buy brings her total spent on TV to $2.5 million in three weeks.

The ad includes a line we expect to hear a lot as she deflects the label of "politician." ("My career was in business. But I've seen just enough of state government to know the partisanship and special interests are even worse than you think.")

Her targeted markets at this point: Jacksonville, Fort Myers, Orlando, Tampa and West Palm Beach.

As for Scott, if past is prologue, don't expect him to let Sink control the message for long.
