Skip Campbell v. Jeff Atwater
Former Democratic attorney general candidate and state Sen. Walter "Skip" Campbell confirms the Buzz that he's seriously considering challenging Republican state Sen. Jeff Atwater, R-North Palm Beach.
"I can assure you some polling has been done that indicates it would be a very competitive race,'' said Campbell who grew up and owns a home in that district, where he won 53 percent of the vote running for attorney general and Alex Sink won 65 percent. "I can guarantee you this. First, it would be a tough race. And I can guarentee you that if we're successful it would change the face of the Florida senate."
There's Buzz that if Democrats seriously challenge Ken Pruitt's expected successor for senate president Democrats like Dave Aronberg would face some competition themselves.
