Smart or weak? Reaction is swift as Rubio joins questioning of Hillary Clinton over Benghazi
Eager to show toughness in the questioning of the attacks in Libya, Sen. Marco Rubio's office just put out a video of him questioning Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. While the hearing was still ongoing.
For some, the spectacle of potential 2016 rivals going head-to-head was an irresistible side bar to the serious issue at hand. But hard-core critics of the Obama administration were not happy with Rubio, if Twitter is any guide (and remember that Twitter is but a tiny sliver of the overall public):
"How do you plan to beat Hillary in a presidential campaign if you can't even stand up to her about #Benghazi video?," wrote @carolt2000. A person who goes by the handle Impeach Obama wrote, "@marcorubio What happened to the hard questions? You let her off the hook! WHY????" Cynicalmike wrote: "A big fan & supporter, I am most disappointed in your questioning of Sec Clinton this morning. You dropped the ball - big time!" But Rubio supporter Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) tweeted: "What you just saw from @marcorubio was how to drive questions in a smart, thoughtful way that still doesn't pull punches."
Judge for yourself.
