Smith and Ballard hires Bridget Nocco, wife of new Pasco sheriff
Bridget Nocco, the wife of Pasco’s new sheriff, has accepted a high-profile job of her own, as a fundraiser for the powerful Tallahassee lobbying firm Smith and Ballard.
The firm, headed by former Attorney General Jim Smith and longtime operative Brian Ballard, announced the move Tuesday. Nocco, “known nationally as a top-tier Republican fundraiser,” will head up fundraising efforts for the firm, according to a release.
Nocco previously worked on the finance teams of Gov. Rick Scott and Bill McCollum and is a former aide to former House Speaker Tom Feeney and also did work for then-House Speaker Marco Rubio. As a lobbyist with her own firm, she represents notable clients such as U.S. Sugar and HCA Healthcare.
Nocco’s husband, Chris Nocco, just took over as Pasco sheriff Sunday after being appointed by Scott to fill the remainder of the term of Bob White, who is retiring.
