Smith: "Straight-Talking Governor"
New in mailboxes in Florida Thursday was a full-color, four-page mailer from the Florida Democratic Party promoting Rod Smith's candidacy, asking "Are you ready for a straight-talking Governor who gets the job done?"
Among the more notable lines: "When I led the bipartisan coalition to stop right-wing extremists from exploiting the case of Terri Schiavo, I did so not just because it was the right thing to do in the tragic case, but it was the right thing to do for every family."
Also mentioned, obliquely, was his role in killing constitutional amendments to shore up vouchers: "Rod Smith stopped Republican attempts to undermine our public schools."
Is the party paying for one for Jim Davis, too?
