Snow scraps RNC visit to Tampa

winterdc.jpgRNC Chairman Reince Priebus was supposed to be in Tampa today to meet with the host committee of the 2012 Republican convention. But the trip is off due to a snowstorm that rocked Washington last night and scuttled flights from DCA.

"I was excited for my visit to Tampa today, but unfortunately nature did not cooperate," Priebus said in statement this morning. "After we sat in a plane on the tarmac for over two hours, the airport closed and the flight was canceled. We are rescheduling so I can get there in the next few weeks. I want everyone in Tampa to know how excited we are to hold our national convention in the Tampa Bay area and that we are committed to holding a world-class convention that will be worthy of the next president of the United States. I am looking forward to making it down to Tampa and planning a convention that Florida and Republicans across the country can be proud of.”
