Steve MacNamara among candidates for university system chancellor



The Board of Govenors just received a list of university system chancellor candidates from the Texas search firm it hired. In addition to state Sen. Jim King, they list:

  • Steve MacNamara, associate professor of communications, Florida State University

  • M.T. Attaf, professor, Department of Earth Sciences, University of Quebec, Montreal

  • Steve Hoagland, research consultant, UC Irvine

  • Larry Lemanski, senior vice president for research, Temple University

  • Preston Mercer, professor of biochemistry, University of South Florida Polytechnic

  • Simon Priest, acting president, Marco Polo International University

  • Chris Sliwa, associate professor of Spanish, Fayetteville State University

  • Bernard Weiss, former member, faculty of graduate education, Southern University

And the note from R. William Funk, president of R. William Funk & Associates, says the search continues: "In our role as the consultant to the Board of Governors, we are continuing to contact individuals within Florida and nationally about becoming a candidate for the position.  We anticipate that this activity will continue through the rest of this month and the month of May."
