Tea partiers abuzz about Gov. Rick Scott's budget unveiling
Tea party types are all abuzz about Gov. Rick Scott's planned budget unveiling in Eustis on Monday.
From a news release from Tampa 9/12 Project organizer Don Hensarling:
Over sixty grassroots organizations have confirmed their participation with event organizers and are very encouraged by Governor Scott’s continuing commitment to the grassroots support that played an integral role in his election. This activist coalition is looking forward to a budget with a strong emphasis on cutting taxes and reducing government spending.
"Gov. Scott’s bold decision to release his budget at a Tea Party rally really sets a precedent by including the very people who’ll actually be contributing to it and speaks volumes to the strength of this movement”, said Tom Gaitens, state director of FreedomWorks.
Tea Party favorite Lloyd Marcus will kick off the event at 12:30 PM with a 30 minute pre-rally, and additional speakers will include State Rep. Mike Weinstein – “Let’s Talk Caucus”, former FBI agent Gary Aldrich – ‘DC and Tea: United as One’, and local tea party hero Dr. Jack Cassell speaking on the ‘Defeat of ObamaCare’.
Attendance is expected to be heavy, and all are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy lunch in the park or at the many charming downtown Eustis restaurants.
Gov. Scott will meet privately with invited tea party leaders at the Eustis Community Center prior to the scheduled event.
