Terminator helps RPOF put up record numbers

As we await today's campaign finance reports from presidential candidates, here's a look at another big haul -- for the Republican Party of Florida.

The party scored $1.6-million with Friday night's "2007 Foundation for Victory Dinner" in Tampa, a record for a non-election year event according to an RPOF release. Gov. Charlie Crist and California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger were the top draws. Also attending: Sen. Mel Martinez, Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp, Attorney General Bill McCollum, Agriculture Commissioner Charles Bronson, Senate President Ken Pruitt and House Speaker Marco Rubio.

"The success of events like the Victory Dinner enables the Republican Party of Florida to continue to thrive and grow, especially as we head into the 2008 election cycle,” RPOF Chairman Jim Greer said.  “Through leadership and vision, we will continue to do everything we can to ensure that Florida's 27 electoral votes remain in Republican hands.”
