Tie a Yellow Ribbon

Most folks know Tony Orlando as the veteran crooner who gave us "Tie A Yellow Ribbon (round the old oak tree)." For U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Palm Harbor, he's also a veterans advocate.

Bilirakis, a member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, has enlisted Orlando to headline his Veterans Benefits Resources Fair next weekend in Tarpon Springs. "We're good friends," Bilirakis explained.

The event will be held 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 1, at East Lake High School, and will feature information about medical and dental care, filing for veterans' claims and services, education benefits, job placement and more.

East Lake is at 1300 Silver Eagle Drive. And as any Tony Orlando event should be (kidding!), it's free.
