Tied CFO, AG Races

We're hearing Mason-Dixon's soon-to-be released poll on the race for chief financial officer shows Republican Tom Lee statistically tied with Democrat Alex Sink in a hypothetical matchup, with Lee at 32, Sink at 31 and undecided at 37. Against Republican Randy Johnson, it's Sink 35, Johnson 29 and undecided 36. In the GOP primary: Lee 21, Johnson 11, Baugess 1, Undecided 67.

In the attorney general's contest, Republican Bill McCollum garners 38 percent support to Democrat Walter "Skip" Campbell's 33 percent (margin of error +/- 5 percent).

“We are very encouraged that prior to spending any money on communication with the voters Senator Campbell is tied with lobbyist Bill McCollum. McCollum has been rejected by the voters twice and he is still not liked by general election voters. Obviously being a perennial candidate has not improved his electability,” said Campbell campaign manager Jeffrey Garcia, noting that McCollum spent $17-million campaigning in Florida over the past six years.

UPDATE: From McCollum campaign manager Phil Vangelakos, "This poll clearly shows that Bill McCollum has a definitive lead on his liberal trial lawyer opponent. The people of Florida know Bill McCollum shares their values and they support him because they know that Bill will fight to protect Florida's children and families."
