Tom Grady rules out AG run
State Rep. Tom Grady, R-Naples, tells us he has decided to run for re-election rather than aim for attorney general after spending a month testing the waters for a statewide campaign. "The feedback was terrific and the support was strong," he said, but he and his wife, Ann, ultimately decided they were happy in Naples and not ready for a 24/7 campaign.
So that leaves Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp, who is widely expected to run for attorney general, and state Rep. Bill Galvano in the mix. Galvano tells Buzz he is still considering running for attorney general and will likely make a decision within the next couple of weeks. He's also looking at running for state Sen. Mike Bennett's seat, which will open up in 2012.
Both Galvano and Grady, btw, said there was no effort by anyone in the state party to clear the field for Kottkamp.
