Tom "Mr. Positive" Gallagher

Campaigning in Valrico Saturday, an upbeat Tom Gallagher brushed off the significance of the Ethics Commission finding Friday that he may have broken state ethics law. He's in the race to stay, is focused on issues that matter to voters, and will wage a positive campaign until the end, he said.

"As far as the campaign goes we’re going to continue talking about the issues that I think are important to the people of Florida. I think that Republicans should have a choice in who will be their nominee and I will continue to be in this campaign to get their vote and hopefully win.''

On Crist's non-committal comments Friday on gay adoptions and statement that civil unions are "fine": "We disagree on those issues. And I have not flip-flopped.  I’ve been steady on the issues in this campaign from before it started and I haven’t changed today. And I won’t change when it’s over."

Is Gallagher under any pressure from other Republicans not to go fiercely negative in the final weeks? "I've said I wasn’t going to go negative from day one. There's no changes. I’ve signed the pledge, including any 527 I have any influence over to make sure that this race stays positive and that’s what I plan on doing."
