TPAW's Florida helpers

The Buzz is Tallahasee lobbyist and veteran Bush family fundaiser/aide Slater Bayliss is joining the Tim Pawlenty campaign as a Florida co-chair.

Meanwhile, Pawlenty is scheduled to raise money in Tampa Aug. 2 at a Intercontinental Hotel luncheon where photos costs $2,500 and lunch costs $1,000.

Another grassroots event also is expected, with details to come.

Look for a bunch, if not most, of the Republican presidential conentenders to make their way to Tampa Bay that week as the RNC holds its summer meeting in Tampa, a year in advance of the national convention in Tampa. For presidential candidates, it's a prime opportunity to court uncommitted RNC members, who tend to be either top grass roots leaders, big fundraisers, or both.
