'Transparency' Web site isn't a big hit
A month after the state Senate launched transparencyflorida.gov, a Web site aimed at increasing openness about state spending, it appears the public isn't very interested.
The total visitors: 10,509. Average length of stay on the site: eight minutes and 30 seconds.
Far short of Senate President Jeff Atwater's (albeit overly idealistic) goal: "We are providing the means for 19 million Floridians to become 19 million auditors," he said at the Jan. 20 launching the site.
