Unemployment rate featured in third Republican phone call for Gov. Scott

The Republican Party of Florida launched its third robo-call to voters in as many weeks on Friday. The call features Scott recording his own message on the state's unemployment. (Here's the first and second calls.)

Florida's unemployment remains among the highest of any state in the union. But Scott's says the "very encouraging news" is that its the fifth month of decline.

Here's the script:

"Hi, this is Gov. Rick Scott. I wanted to personally call and share some very encouraging news about our efforts to get Florida back to work. The latest unemployment figures were just released and for the fifth straight month, unemployment has gone down in Florida. That's right, unemployment is down for five straight months, bucking the national trend.

"While this is good news, Florida families are still struggling with unemployment and economic challenges. That is what drives me to focus
everyday on getting Floridians back to work by eliminatinng burdensome regulations and cutting red tape so we can move quickly to close deals that create new jobs.

I will do all I can to add to the positive momentum, and I won't rest until we get Florida back to work. Thank you for taking the time to listen. Paid for by the Republican Party of Florida."
