Vice President Bob Graham
St. Pete Times Editor of Editor of Editorials Phil Gailey is not so crazy about the idea of Vice President Charlie Crist and likens Bill Nelson to Hillary Clinton's "braying jackass." But he thinks Bob Graham (or Sam Nunn) makes loads of sense for Barack Obama:
"It could go a long way toward healing and uniting Florida Democrats, a majority of whom voted for Hillary Clinton in the state's outlaw primary.Graham also could help Obama with his elitist image by introducing him to swamp cabbage (it doesn't have a "bitter'' taste) and Florida Crackers (not the eating kind but those natives who love guns and God and dogs, though not necessarily in that order)...." More here.
And what does Carl Hiassen think of the Crist for VP? That he should take his name out of the running and concentrate on the job to which he was elected.
"If Crist were to become vice president, he'd leave Tallahassee with virtually no footprints. He would be remembered more for his tan than for his leadership. People are fond of Charlie now, but likability can carry a politician only so far. At some point, voters expect results -- and results take time....Say what you will about Jeb Bush (and I've said plenty that he didn't like), the man put in eight full years as governor, and he worked his butt off."
