Video rewind: Rubio's evolution on the VP question

He's in. He's out. He's back in.

Sen. Marco Rubio, whatever the case, has enjoyed quite a ride on the VP trail. For as much as the media has spurred the frenzy, Rubio has gamely played along. As Mitt Romney's decision near, we review Rubio's journey.

"I absolutely think I would say, 'No, I wouldn't want to be vice president in 2012 ... I certainly feel that way right now. I don't think I'm going to be asked.' "

"I won't consider it. I don't want to be the vice president."

"I'm not going to be the vice presidential nominee."

Off the table.

Flattered, but I want to get things done in the Senate.

The people's choice.

Finally, he endorses Romney.

"I'm not even talking about the whole process."

I'm not too young, however.

"I don't believe I'm going to be asked to be the vice presidential nominee ..."

Rove: You don't want to look like you're campaigning.

"If I do a good job as vice president."

The buzz grows.

And grows.

Getting to know Mitt.

Rubio not being vetted?!

"Marco Rubio is being thoroughly vetted."

I'm still not discussing the process.

Sell some books.

And some more.

Jeb: Pick Rubio.

Rudy: Pick Rubio.

Off the shortlist?

Go for the gold, Mitt!
