Video: Rick Scott talks vacation and sharing sunshine

Democrats are blasting Gov. Rick Scott for spending his upcoming vacation in Montana instead of Florida, and using the occasion to criticize Scott for state tourism advertisements that they say amount to self-promotion.

"It's an ad that’s running across the state and they’re spending a lot of money on it," Jotkoff said.

If the governor was serious about bringing tourists to the Sunshine State, he said, Visit Florida would be running ads in other states promoting Florida beaches and such.

Instead, the ads talk about how one tourist creates 85 jobs, he said.

"It's basically a thinly veiled campaign ad trying to make him look like he’s bringing jobs to the state rather than advertising Florida tourism to people who would come to Florida," Jotkoff said. He demanded an apology from the governor and removal of the ads from the airwaves.

The advertisement shows Scott on the on the beach, where he says Florida's residents are its greatest resource, and encourages people who live here to to invite framily and friends to visit and "share a little sunshine."
