The editorial page of the Wall Street Journal has never been impressed with Gov. Charlie Crist, but now it weighs in with a decidedly negative assessment of Crist's decision to put George LeMieux, re-labeled as "Charlie Crist Lite," in the United States Senate. The Journal labels LeMieux "a mini-me appointee to serve for 16 months in what could be a momentous Congress."

Noting that LeMieux embraces "the Charlie Crist way" as the way to address things in Washington, the Journal writes: "What that means on crucial legislation is anyone's guess, given Mr. Crist's protean (definition: readily taking on varied shapes, forms or meanings ... Florida voters have a right to expect more."
