What campaign logos say about the U.S. Senate candidates
Connie Mack enjoys name ID because of his father, the former U.S. Senator with the same name. But Mack seems to go the extra distance with his campaign material, which features a baseball, a nod to his great-grandfather, Hall of Famer Connie Mack.
Mack spokesman David James said he's used the baseball in previous campaigns and that it was a "ridiculous" to infer it's a political ploy.
"It's like me pointing out how the Nelson logo mirrors NASA but really reminds people of how he cut the line at NASA and took the most expensive Congressional junket in history."
Bill Nelson, who once took a trip to space, does adopt a similar swoosh and color scheme in his campaign material.
George LeMieux, another candidate, goes for a vaguely patriotic basic approach, though note the emphasis on his first name.
