Where to find air conditioning, good speakers, and loads of GOP women at RNC
Mary Anne Carter, former senior adviser to Gov. Rick Scott and now public policy director of theYG Network founded and run by former Eric Cantor advisers, is putting together a cool "Woman Up Pavilion" in the Channelside area near the Tampa Bay Times Forum during the Republican National Convention. YG has 14,000 square feet in a former Chamber of Commerce space (right near Hooters), and will be open every day from 9 a.m. to midnight during the convention. YG's Woman Up Pavilion will feature lectures and panel discussions, a coffee shop, vendors, and a women's suffrage museum.
That's prime real estate located right where convention busses drop people, so it should see lots of traffic. Carter expects 1,500 or more people a day to attend. On that Wednesday of RNC week, they will also host a salute to women elected officials.
