Winner and loser of the week in Fla politics
WINNER OF THE WEEK: Mike Fasano. Call it a self-serving publicity stunt if you like, but state Rep. Fasano, R-New Port Richey, is walking the walk when it comes to campaign finance reform. He shuttered his so-called CCE political committee, Floridians for Principled Government, and transferred more than $100,000 in slush funds — er, donations — to charities.

LOSER OF THE WEEK: A.K. Desai. State regulators say chronic mismanagement and illegal activity helped send his St. Petersburg insurance company into bankruptcy and Desai hastily resigned last week from both the state Board of Education and as finance chairman of the Florida GOP.
