Winner and loser of the week in Fla politics
Winner of the week: Marco Rubio. To mark the anniversary of Charlie Crist’s embrace of Obama and the $787-billion stimulus package, two online fundraising gimmicks by Rubio and South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint - so called “money bombs” – sought donations for Rubio’s campaign. It brought in a whopping $860,000 and added 8,000 e-mails to Rubio’s list. The best day of Rubio’s political career? The day Crist hugged Obama.
Loser(s) of the week: Jim Rimes, Andy Palmer, Geoffrey Becker, David Johnson, and every other former Florida GOP executive director. Pity these pros having to explain to their families how a less qualified executive director, Delmar Johnson, took home a vastly bigger paycheck than they did.
