Winner and loser of the week in Fla politics

22

August

Hasner Winner of the week: Adam Hasner. When most of the GOP political establishment was writing off Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill McCollum as dead-candidate walking (and lobbyists were quietly reaching out to Republican Rick Scott or Democrat Alex Sink) the uber partisan majority leader remained firmly and vocally behind McCollum. He even played Rick in McCollum’s debate prep.

Loser(s) of the week: Charlie Crist. Gov. Crist refuses to refund    Crist_unleashed_121626a
contributions to Republicans who wanted their money back after he abandoned the GOP, except one: his indicted hand-picked former GOP chairman Jim Greer, Hiaasen who Crist probably can’t afford to tick off too much. Carl Hiaasen. Not even the master of whacky Florida fictional tales could top this crazy election year, marked by the once invincible GOP governor being cast out of his party and two baggage-laden gazillionaires turning a couple sleepy primaries upside down.
