Winner of the week: Norm Roche. The Pinellas County Commissioner outed last week for anonymously posting erratic, racially charged comments on online newspaper articles took just one year to cement his status: the flakiest and most interesting politician in Tampa Bay.

Loser of the week: Paul Hawkes. The "small government conservative" former legislator and activist-turned judge is resigning rather than face an ethics trial over his role in masterminding construction of a palatial, $50 million appeals court building in Tallahassee. Hawkes lost his career, but the building remains as a monument to hubris and hypocrisy.
