Winner and loser of the week in Fla politics

Winner of the week: Florida's Republican primary. What had looked likely a week ago like a snooze of Jan. 31 primary with Mitt Romney 3-0 after Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, is now wide open. Florida is again center of the political universe. Those lousy hotel rooms and slashed delegates that the RNC imposed on the Florida GOP for an early primary appear to be worth it.

Loser of the week: Iowa's caucuses. We're supposed to play second fiddle to Iowa, which can't even count its caucus results properly? Oh, wait. Florida has a history of vote counting problems too, don't we. Never mind.

Loser of the week II: Floridians who already voted for Rick Perry, Jon Huntsman, or Michele Bachmann. Next time you might want to hold onto those absentee ballots awhile a see how things play out.
