Winner and loser of the week in Fla politics

fortuno.jpgWinner of the week: Luis Fortuno. Puerto Rico Gov. Fortuno, likely to be a regular GOP surrogate in Florida before November, helped deliver at least 20 Puerto Rican delegates to Mitt Romney Sunday, as his political machine went to work in a territory where most voters couldn't care less about the GOP presidential primary. Romney now promises to fight for statehood if Puerto Ricans want it, and Fortuno demonstrates why he's mentioned as a long shot VP candidate: Florida 29 electoral votes.

Loser of the week: Nancy Argenziano. A potentially formidable congressional candidate for the seat now held by Republican Stevanrgenz.jpge Southerland, she lost a legal challenge to the recently enacted "Charlie Crist law" requiring at least one year between a party switch and qualifying as a candidate. The populist maverich wanted to run as a Democrat. Instead she may find how tough it is to run without party affiliation.
