Winner and loser of the week in Florida politics
We neglected to post our weekly winner/loser this weekend:
Winner of the week: Alex Sink. After three months of Rick Scott's governing, Alex Sink appears to be looking mighty good to Florida voters. A poll released last week by Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling (margin of error plus or minus 4.4 percentage points) found only one in three voters approved of Scott's performance. If they could do-over November's election, 56 percent would vote for Sink and 37 percent for Scott.
Loser of the week: Florida delegates to the GOP convention. It looks more and more like the Florida GOP will buck the Republican National Committee's rules and hold Florida's presidential primary in late January or February. GOP activists across the country are livid. Not only will that mean Florida will lose half its delegates to the convention in Tampa, but those who do get in can count on sitting somewhere in back of the American Samoa delegation.
