Yes on 2 marriage declare victory
The group supporting the ban on gay marriage declared victory just now. Even some South Florida precincts are still out, the margin of those supporting Amendment 2 is still 62 percent.
"We are just thrilled, we are elated, it's an amazing victory," said John Stemberger, attorney and head of Florida4marriage. Stemberger acknowledged that robust turnout among African Americans and Hispanics, many in favor of Sen. Obama, probably helped their cause.
The group fighting Amendment 2, Florida Red and Blue, conceded a few minutes ago.
"We worked hard to educate voters about what could be the dangerous fall-out from Amendment 2," said Jon Kislak, the group's chairman. "But it proved to be a complex
and nuanced argument.”
