Corrine Brown: 'Mitt Romney was right'
Rep. Corrine Brown, D-Jacksonville, made Washington headlines for her sharp remarks toward House Republicans, who passed a farm bill that excludes funding for food stamps.
"Mitt Romney was right: You all do not care about the 47 percent" Brown said Thursday. “Shame on you. ... This is a sad day for the House of Representatives. Shame on the Republicans.”
At least one Republican suggested her remarks be removed from the record but he appeared to back off.
Romney's 47 percent comment was made during a fundraiser in Florida during his 2012 presidential run. He's acknowledged it was one of the reasons he failed to win.
