Eric Trump sees Jeb Bush's comments as sign of growing GOP unity around father
Eric Trump said Monday that Jeb Bush's comments that his father's supporters deserve respect is a sign of growing GOP unity around the candidate.
This morning on Fox & Friends, Trump was asked whether comments from Bush and was about the Trump voter or Donald Trump himself:
“Listen, I think it’s probably both and I think it’s about the party, right. It’s really about the party," Eric Trump said.
"You’ve got to remember with Lindsey Graham, with Jeb, these things are so vicious inside, right, I mean they're so hard. People put their whole lives on the line and so sometimes – it does hurt to lose and sometimes it takes a little while to warm up and that’s what’s happening and you're seeing that with Lindsey, and you're seeing that with Jeb and I think you’re going to see it with all of the others as well. People want to see us beat Hillary. We will beat Hillary, and the party is coming around in a big way, in a really big way."
Bush is clearly no fan of Trump's and said he will not vote for him.
But he said Saturday that Trump backers are not "a bunch of idiots," and have legitimate reasons to be pessimistic about the direction of the country.
