Ex-Ohio Gov. Strickland to headline Florida Dems' conference

Former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland will headline the Florida Democratic party's 2013 state conference at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort Oct. 25-27.

"When I was governor of Ohio, we proved that you can expand access to education and help businesses grow. We built new schools and cut burdensome business regulations. We were proud Democrats, and we helped people," Strickland said in a blast email to Florida Democratic activists.
"Republican governors like Rick Scott don't understand that. Rick Scott won't help people. He's looking out for the special interests, not regular Floridians. Let's stand shoulder-to-shoulder in Orlando this October to defeat Rick Scott," said Strickland, who lost his re-election bid in 2010 to John Kasich.
"This year's Conference will be packed with special events featuring Democratic all-stars from across Florida and the nation, and trainings that will arm you with the tools you need to help defeat Rick Scott -- don't miss out!"
