FAMU's Marching 100 has a new director, but no timetable on band's return

With the selection of a new director today, in addition to some other recent hires, Florida A&M University now has all the pieces in place to allow the esteemed but embattled Marching 100 band to return in the fall.

The school announced today that alum Sylvester Young will be the new director of the marching band. Young is a 1969 FAMU graduate who once marched with the "100," which has not performed publicly since the November 2011 hazing death of drum major Robert Champion.
