FBI news charges up -- and worries -- Clinton supporter in Dade City
DADE CITY – Sandi Caspers is the rare Democrat who lives in the Villages so she drove an hour Tuesday to hear Hillary Clinton here, cheering along from under a Chicago Cubs hat as Clinton ripped into Donald Trump.
But Caspers is also “very concerned” about the trajectory of the race now given the FBI news.
“It wasn’t fair to bring up the issue just a few days before the election, something they haven’t even started investigating. That is so unfair. What this that all about?” Caspers said.
“I’m scared. Trump is taking advantage of this and all the issues with Trump nobody is talking about any more.”
Clinton was, of course, repeating a litany of charges against him. Clinton was introduced by Alicia Machado, the beauty pageant winner whom Trump called fat. “He’s the pig,” shouted a woman in the crowd.
“I feel a lot of people are fired up, even more now,” Caspers said. “We’re mad. I’m very concerned and that’s why we’re campaigning harder.” She said she’s been calling up young people she knows and urging them to vote.
"This is exactly what she needs to be doing," Caspers said as Clinton went on an extended attack on Trump. "We need to be talking about what he is, what he represents. She needs to talk like this all the time."
